OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – The #15 Pepperdine men's golf team is through two rounds of the Fighting Illini Invitational at the par-70 North Course at Olympia Fields Country Club. The Waves are tied for 11
th heading into the third and final round tomorrow, having shot a 13-over 573 (286-287).
Sophomore
Mahanth Chirravuri has highlighted the Waves' performances so far, tying for fifth after shooting a 4-under 136 after two bogeyless rounds.
The Waves are tied with Purdue after both teams shot a 7-over 287 in the second round today, while the team is three shots away from Illinoi in 10
th and 12 strokes away from a top-five finish. Pepperdine leads the teams tied for 13
th by two strokes and the team in 15
th by 13.
PLAYER SCORES
- Sophomore Mahanth Chirravuri (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton HS/USC) has produced two bogeyless rounds in the past two days, marking a pair of birdies in each round, including one on each the front and back nine today.
- Freshman William Walsh (San Mateo, Calif./Junipero Serra HS) is tied for 21st with a score of 141 (72-69). He started out the second day strong with four birdies on his first eight holes without a bogey, and he remained fairly consistent through the rest of the round, finishing 1-under after 18 holes.
- Sophomore Joshua Koo (Cerritos, Calif./Cerritos HS/Washington) is tied for 44th with a score of 145 (70-75). He has posted six birdies throughout the tournament thus far, including one today.
- Sophomore Brady Siravo (Sacramento, Calif./Jesuit HS) is tied for 74th with a score of 151 (76-75) and freshman Kristoffer Kuvaas (Houston, Texas/The Village School) is tied for 78th with a 153 (77-76).
