Women's Track Heads to Portland for Indoor Meet

MALIBU, Calif. – The Pepperdine women's track team is headed to Oregon to compete in the Portland Indoor on Sunday.

The meet is hosted by Portland inside the Chiles Center on Sunday, Feb. 5. Racing will begin at 12:00 p.m. with the women's 200 meters.

LAST TIME OUT

Pepperdine opened the 2023 indoor season at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational in New Mexico on Jan. 21 and had a strong showing by many of the Waves' newcomers.

Highlighting the meet was freshman Ashley Eagan (St. Petersburg, Fla./St. Petersburg HS) with an 800 meter heat win in a time of 2:29.99.

Sophomore Kaley Peterson (Sunnyvale, Calif./Saint Francis HS) was the top performer for the Waves in the 60 meters with a time of 7.87. Freshman Mia Skuraton (Mendham, N.J./Perkiomen School) had the squad's best time in the 400 meters, clocking in at 1:03.36. Pepperdine had two teams compete in the 4x400 meter relay. The Waves top team was freshman Isabella Reyes (Caldwell, Idaho), Peterson, Skuraton and sophomore Maddy Ortman (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Valor Christian HS).

Last season when the Waves attended the Portland Indoor Invite, Peterson won the 60 meters in a time of 7.91, which was only 0.2 seconds short of the school record.
