Pepperdine Falls to Boston College in Game Two

MALIBU, Calif. – The Pepperdine baseball team fell 3-0 to Boston College on Saturday afternoon at Eddy D. Field Stadium. With the win, the Eagles evened the series and forced a rubber match in game three.

The Waves (1-1) fell behind in the top of the first inning 3-0 to the Eagles (1-1) and were unable to put a rally together as Pepperdine and Boston College were both scoreless after the first inning.

In the first inning, Boston College led off with a walk. After the Waves got the first out, the Eagles stole second to put themselves in scoring position and then Boston College sent a single to right center that scored the first run of the game. Patrick Roche of Boston College hit a homer over the left field wall to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead.

Through eight full innings, it was a defensive duel on both sides of the field as the Waves made contact on almost every at-bat, but it was right to an Eagles player. In the final bottom half of the inning, Boston College went three-up three-down to collect the victory and even the series.

- Sophomore RHP Bobby Christy (Odessa, Fla./Sickles HS) threw 3.0 innings in relief to close out the game, allowing only one hit and striking out one batter.
