SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — Pepperdine women's soccer players Skylar Enge and Tori Waldeck made the West Coast Conference's All-Academic team, as announced by the league on Thursday.
To make the team, players must hold a minimum 3.20 cumulative grade point average during the most recently completed term, be a starter or an important reserve with appearances in at least 50% of the team's games and be at least a sophomore with a minimum of one year in residence completed at their school.
Enge, a sustainability major with a 3.909 GPA, started in all 19 games and led the Waves with seven assists to go along with three goals. This award marks the second time Enge has earned all-conference academic honors, as she was a WCC All-Academic honorable mention selection last year.
Majoring in liberal studies for education with a 3.615 GPA, Waldeck was the 2023 WCC Offensive Player of the Year and an All-WCC First Team selection after having an excellent season for the Waves. Waldeck also started in all 19 matches and led the team with 11 goals — good for second-most in the WCC. This is Waldeck's second WCC academic award; she was a WCC All-Academic honorable mention selection in 2021 and 2022.
Additionally, Pepperdine had nine players who earned WCC All-Academic honorable mention status: Kelsey Adams, Cadee Borg, Caroline Coleman, Julianna Duckett, Karina Gonzalez, CC Maloof, Kyra Murphy, Tatum Wynalda and Erin Zeile.
This fall, the Waves finished second in the WCC and made their 13th NCAA Tournament appearance, where they fell to eventual national runner-up Stanford in the opening round.
