Pepperdine Announces 2024 Baseball Schedule

MALIBU, Calif. – The 2024 Pepperdine baseball schedule was released today, as announced by head coach Rick Hirtensteiner, who enters his ninth year at the helm. The Waves will play a total of 52 games, with 29 contests at Eddy D. Field Stadium and 23 on the road.

"The Waves are excited for the 2024 season. We will play four out-of-state teams in the first five weeks of the season including Utah, Western Michigan, Villanova, and Tulane," said Hirtensteiner. "Our mid-week games against strong opponents including UCLA, Long Beach, Cal State Northridge, and Cal Poly to round out a strong non-conference schedule."

Pepperdine opens up the non-conference schedule with Cal Baptist and Utah for a four-game three-day round-robin, where the Waves will play each squad twice. The four-games will begin at Eddy D. Field on February 16-17 and finish play at Cal Baptist on February 18. The Waves will then begin a six-game homestand with a midweek contest against UC Santa Barbara on February 20 then host Western Michigan for a series (Feb. 23-25). Following the Western Michigan series, Pepperdine will host CSU
Bakersfield on February 27 for a midweek game.

Opening up March, the Waves will have a three-game series with UC Riverside with game one (March 1) being played in Malibu and the final two games of the series will be on the road in Riverside (March 2-3). Pepperdine will continue on the road for a midweek game against Cal Poly (March 5), before heading back to Eddy D. Field Stadium to host Villanova (March 8-10) and CSU Bakersfield (March 12). The Waves will trek to the South for a three-game series against Tulane (March 15-17) and on the way back will play a midweek matchup against CSUN (March 19).

The Waves will open West Coast Conference play at Eddy D. Field Stadium with a weekend series against Pacific (March 22-24). The rest of the conference schedule is as follows: at LMU (March 28-30), vs. San Francisco (April 5-7), at Santa Clara (April 12-14), vs. San Diego (April 19-21), at Saint Mary's (May 3-5), vs. Portland (May 10-12) and at Gonzaga (May 16-18).

Pepperdine will also play non-conference midweek single games at CSU Bakersfield (March 25), vs. Long Beach (April 2), at UCLA (April 9), vs. CSUN (April 16), vs. UCLA (April 30), at UC Santa Barbara (May 7) and vs. Cal Poly (May 14).

Pepperdine welcomes 18 newcomers to the squad and 20 returners.
