SAN BRUNO, Calif. - A strong awards season continues for Pepperdine baseball as seven Waves earned All-Conference honors, as announced this morning by the West Coast Conference.
Tommy Scavone earned First Team Pitcher All-Conference, while Casey Euper, Kai Laxa, Daniel Patterson, Lucien Wechsberg, and Joshua Woodworth were Honorable Mentions. Woodworth also made the All-Freshman Team alongside James Dell'Amico.
It's the first time since 2019 that Pepperdine boasts' at least two players on the All-Freshman Team. As an overall class, seven total honorees is the most the Waves have had since 2014.
Scavone has been an ace for Pepperdine alongside Euper, with the Waves winning eight of Scavone's last 10 starts. Despite missing his last start and exiting early in his most recent appearance, Scavone still ranks among the top of the WCC in strikeouts.
The aforementioned Euper started the season out of the bullpen before being stretched out to a starter, turning in a solid 3.36 ERA at the regular season's end. Only a sophomore, the southpaw had a career outing against LMU on April 17, recording 13 punchouts.
If the Waves are in a position to win, Wechsberg has been the go-to guy out of the bullpen. Out of Pepperdine's 21 wins, the graduate has been involved in 14 of them. Lucien nailed down a career-high 10 saves in the regular season while also recording three wins. His .231 opponent batting average paces the Waves.
Daniel Patterson has had one of his best collegiate years, being the mainstay at the hot corner. He powdered a two-run homer on Sunday against Santa Clara, moving back into a tie with Woodworth for the team lead in long balls (10). For most of the season, Patterson has been Pepperdine's leadoff hitter and has done his job getting on base (.359 percent, third among qualifiers).
Woodworth has provided the Waves a resurgent power bat that came to life in mid-April. Since April 17 (17 games), the Ventura, California native is hitting .394 (28-for-71) and .406 with runners on base (13-for-32). Primarily the designated hitter, Woodworth has also served as a stable third baseman alongside Patterson.
James Dell'Amico, whose father played on the Waves' 1992 national championship team, quickly became Pepperdine's starting first baseman early in the season. His current .290 average is third on the squad among qualified hitters. Despite only hitting two home runs, he's tied for third with Trey Dunn for RBI on the team (25).
Pepperdine, representing the four seed in the WCC Tournament, will play fifth-seeded Saint Mary's as part of the opening round of the conference tournament at 7:00 pm PT on Wednesday night.

Kai Laxa has made a name for himself as Pepperdine's primary second baseman. The speedy junior has been hot at the dish lately, leading the Waves in batting average at .307. He has been an outstanding defender, not having recorded an error in 2026.Singing all the way to Scottsdale 🎤
