Waves Through Two Rounds at Ben Hogan Collegiate Invite

FORT WORTH, Texas – The Pepperdine men's golf team got things underway at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invite on Monday, playing 36-holes to open the tournament.  The Waves will enter the third and final round at the par-70, 6,885-yard Shady Oaks Country Club in 15th place tomorrow.

Three Waves spent the majority of the day in the top-20, though sophomore returner Brady Siravo would lead the squad by the end of the second round, tying for 19th.  He highlighted the second round with an eagle on the eighth hole.

The Waves shot a 13-over 573 (285-288) and are one stroke behind tournament-host TCU.  Pepperdine is only three shots out of the top-10.  Oklahoma leads the field, 18-under, while Arizona State shot 13-under to hold second-place.

PLAYER SCORES
  • Sophomore Brady Siravo (Sacramento, Calif./Jesuit HS) is tied for 19th after a two-round score of 140 (71-69).  He amassed five birdies throughout 36 holes and tabbed an eagle on hole eight in the second round. 
  • Sophomore Mahanth Chirravuri (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton HS/USC) is tied for 40th with a 36-hole score of 143 (69-74).  He tabbed six birdies throughout the day.
  • Freshman Curtis Da Silva (Monterey, Calif./Robert Louis Stevenson School) is tied for 60th with a score of 146 (74-72).  He picked up seven birdies.
  • Sophomore Joshua Koo (Cerritos, Calif./Cerritos HS/Washington) is tied for 63rd after posting a 147 (71-76).  He had four birdies today.
  • Freshman William Walsh (San Mateo, Calif./Junipero Serra HS) finished the day with three birdies overall and is tied for 67th with a score of 149 (76-73).
 
UP NEXT:
Pepperdine will be paired with TCU and Texas Tech tomorrowing, teeing off on the 10th hole beginning at 7:30 a.m. PT.
