Pepperdine Closes Up Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate

ALPHARETTA, Ga. – The Pepperdine men's golf team shot 3-under in the final round of the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate on Sunday, putting them at 10th to end the tournament with a score of 863 (288-290-285). 

Mahanth Chirravuri led the Waves at the par-72 Lakeside Course after posting all three rounds under par to tie for third.  He had a career-best 66 in the second round and was only two shots away from a tie for the lead. 

The Waves bested four higher ranked teams, including leading UCLA by a stroke at the end, and was only five shots away from finishing in the top-six.  Virginia marked an impressive 19-under 269 in the round today to finish 25-under overall and to take over as the team champions.

PLAYER SCORES
  • Sophomore Mahanth Chirravuri (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton HS/USC) shot under par in all three of his rounds for the first time this season, finishing tied for third with a 207 (70-66-71).  He was two shots behind the lead at the end of the day.  He tabbed 16 birdies throughout the tournament, second-most out of any golfer in the tournament, including four in the final round today. 
  • Sophomore Joshua Koo (Cerritos, Calif./Cerritos HS/Washington) tied for 34th with a three-day total of 217 (74-76-67).  He had an eagle in his first round on Friday and followed up with his best-ever career round today, shooting 5-under with six birdies to finish strong.  He had 11 birdies throughout the tournament.
  • Freshman William Walsh (San Mateo, Calif./Junipero Serra HS) finished tied for 52nd with a total of 221 (71-72-78).  He amassed eight birdies overall, including three in the final round.
  • Freshman Kristoffer Kuvaas (Houston, Texas/The Village School) also tied for 52nd with a three-round total of 221 (73-77-71).  He eagled hole eight in the final round and had an additional birdie.  He totaled seven birdies throughout the weekend.
  • Sophomore Brady Siravo (Sacramento, Calif./Jesuit HS) finished 73rd with a score of 227 (75-76-76).  He tallied five birdies and two eagles this weekend.
 
UP NEXT:
At the end of the month, the Waves will compete in their final tournament of the fall, trekking up North to compete at the Cypress Point Invitational hosted by Stanford in Palo Alto.
