MALIBU, California – After leading the Pepperdine men's volleyball team to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament title over the weekend, the Waves' David Hunt has been named MPSF Coach of the Year for the second time in his five seasons as head coach.
After a third-place finish in the regular season, the Waves defeated sixth-seeded BYU, second-seeded USC and fifth-seeded Stanford over four nights at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion to win the championship, and earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships.
The Waves moved up to #5 in this week's AVCA poll.

Pepperdine (19-9) will compete in the opening rounds of the NCAA Tournament next week. The Waves will face host UCLA next Tuesday (May 3) at 5 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion.
