Isabel Zelaya and junior
Emma Ammerman of the Pepperdine women's volleyball team, garnered CSC Academic All-District honors on Tuesday morning, as announced by College Sports Communicators.

Zelaya, originally from Tomball, Texas, has amassed a 3.585 grade point average while studying Business Administration at Pepperdine. Throughout her career, she has earned WCC All-Academic first team honors in 2020, as well as WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll 'gold' honors in 2020 and 'silver' honors in 2021 and 2022. The four-time Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete has also garnered AVCA Pacific South All-Region first team acclaim in 2020 and is a two-time All-WCC first teamer. Â

This season, Zelaya has led the Waves offensive with 1,014 total assists and 10.14 assists/set. She also has amassed 300 digs, 46 blocks, 17 aces and 61 kills to produce 2.00 digs, 0.46 blocks, 0.61 kills and 0.17 aces per set.

Ammerman has worked for a 3.605 GPA while studying Sport Administration at Pepperdine. Throughout her career, she has been a two-time WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll 'silver' honoree and Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete. This season, Ammerman has tabbed 68 kills, 20 digs and 14 blocks, averaging 1.21 kills, 0.36 digs and 0.25 blocks per set for the Waves.

There were 17 athletes from the West Coast Conference who earned recognition on the Academic All-District squad.Â

The CoSIDA Academic All-District teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. First team honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be announced in December.Â
