MALIBU, California -- Despite the athletic seasons being played in a pandemic, with fall seasons moved to the spring and teams having to follow strict COVID-19 protocols, it was another banner year for Pepperdine athletics, highlighted by the men's golf team's national championship and an NCAA runner-up finish by the women's tennis team.

Additional exceptional performances included Guy Den Ouden and Adrian Oetzbach making the semifinals of the NCAA men's doubles tournament, the men's basketball team winning the postseason College Basketball Invitational and Karl Winter becoming the first track athlete to qualify for the NCAA West Preliminary meet in the program's Division I era.

- Pepperdine finished 58th in the NACDA/Learfield IMG College Directors' Cup standings, the Waves' best showing since 2005-06. The Waves were second in the Division I-AAA standings and second among WCC schools.
- Six teams finished with top 25 national rankings (men's golf, women's tennis, men's volleyball, women's beach volleyball, women's indoor volleyball, men's water polo) with four of them ending up in the top five.
- Four teams won a conference championship (men's golf, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's water polo).
- Six teams competed at NCAA Championships (men's golf, women's golf, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's volleyball, women's volleyball).
- 17 student-athletes earned All-American honors.
- One student-athlete received the WCC's Gilleran Award as the conference's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year (Ashley Lahey, tennis).
- One student-athlete was named national newcomer of the year (Bryce Dvorak, men's volleyball)
- Three student-athletes earned conference player of the year honors (Kent Emden, men's water polo; Ashley Lahey, women's tennis; Dylan Menante, men's golf).
- Five other student-athletes earned top league awards (Meg Brown, women's volleyball freshman; Guy Den Ouden, men's tennis freshman; Caroline Hwang, women's golf freshman; Taisya Pachkaleva, women's tennis freshman; Madison Shields, women's volleyball libero).
- Three coaches earned conference coach of the year honors (Michael Beard, men's golf; Per Nilsson, women's tennis; Adam Schaechterle, men's tennis) and another earned conference coach of the championship meet (Ellie Monobe, women's swim/dive).
- 63 student-athletes earned all-conference honors (48 on the first team).
- 90 student-athletes earned conference all-academic honors (46 on the first team).
- 131 student-athletes earned a place on the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
- 150 student-athletes earned Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete status.
- In the most recent NCAA Graduation Success Rate report (released November 2020), the Waves had an overall rate of 92 percent, better than the national rate of 90 percent. Eight teams had perfect 100 percent GSR rates (men's cross country and track, women's cross country and track, men's golf, women's golf, women's swimming and diving, men's tennis, women's tennis and men's volleyball).
- Pepperdine won the PCH Cup -- its annual series with rival Loyola Marymount -- for the 10th time in 12 years with a score of 11.5 to 10.5.Â
