#4 Women's Tennis Invites #13 Oklahoma State to Malibu

MALIBU, Calif. – The fourth-ranked Pepperdine women's tennis squad will stay in Malibu this weekend to play #13 Oklahoma State on Friday afternoon.

ATTENDANCE: In accordance with state and county guidelines, fans will not be permitted to attend.
SCOUTING THE COWGIRLS
Oklahoma State currently sits at 5-3 on the season, with two wins over Missouri as well as Central Arkansas, Missouri State and Oral Roberts. Their three losses came during the ITA National Indoors, where they lost their opening round match to then-#2 UCLA, #7 Northwestern and #12 Georgia Tech.
In singles, Bunyawi Thamchaiwat represents the highest-ranking Cowgirl at #24, followed by Lisa Marie Rioux at #54, #77 Ayumi Miyamoto and #105 Alana Wolfberg. The pair of Thamchaiwat/Miyamoto rank tied at #34 in doubles as the lone ranked pair for OSU.
SURF REPORT
After taking a week off, the #4 Waves are ready for action. In their most recent matchup, Pepperdine took a 4-2 win over #16 USC- their second such win over the Trojans this season.
In doubles play, pairs Ashley Lahey/Nikki Redelijk and Taisiya Pachkaleva/Lisa Zaar avenged the loss of the doubles point during the teams' first meeting, claiming 6-2 and 6-4 wins respectively for the Waves.
33rd-ranked Jessica Failla upset #22 Angela Kulikov in straight sets, going 6-1, 6-2 on court one for the first Pepperdine singles point of the day. Sophomore Zaar defeated USC's Clare McKee 6-3, 6-3 before #88 Pachkaleva clinched the match on court four for the Waves at 4-2.
