PLAY-BY-PLAY
Pepperdine came out swinging to open the match, pulling ahead 6-2 with kills from Shannon Scully and Rachel Ahrens.  The Tigers rallied back and tied the set at eight-apiece shortly after.  The teams then went point-for-point en route to a 20-20 tied score before Pacific started pulling ahead, eventually to a 23-21 advantage.  Pepperdine stayed close though, tying the score at 23's with a Malibu Roofing Company rejection from Ahrens and Meg Brown.  A kill from Ahrens put the Waves in a position to close the set and the team was able to do so by capitalizing on an attack error from across the net.

Though the second set began with the teams exchanging points, then a huge solo block from Isabel Zelaya and smashes from Brown and Ahrens helped the cause towards a 12-8 Pepperdine advantage.  The kills kept coming from Emma Ammerman and another block from Scully and Brown kept the four-point spread.  It would be an advantage the Waves would keep for the rest of the set, with Scully and Brown ending the set with another wall at the net.

The third set was a see-saw battle throughout, with Pacific taking the first 10-8 lead and the Waves rallying back to an 18-15 advantage.  Though Pepperdine was able to reach a match-point opportunity at 24-21, the Tigers hung in the match and fought off three match-point options.  The Waves fought off six set-point opportunities from Pacific as well, but the opposition was able to get the kill to keep the match going into a fourth.

In the fourth set, Pepperdine was nearly unstoppable from start to finish.  Scully came out serving bullets at the service line to put the Tigers on edge and help her team to a 5-1 lead.  Kills from Ahrens and a solo rejection from Scully continued the Waves momentum towards a 12-6 advantage.  With a 20-134 lead Madison Shields took the service line.  A block from Alli O'Harra and Ammerman started things off and back-to-back kills from the same pair put the home team in a position to close.  Pepperdine would do just that after Pacific tabbed an attack error to end the match.
