PERSONAL: Majoring in business administration … Born in Houston, Texas … Parents are Rod and Christen Zelaya … Has one sister Gabi … Sister Gabi played indoor volleyball at Houston for two years and is now at Delaware … Her mother Christen was a four-year outside hitter letterwinner at Texas Tech … Her father Rod threw javelin at Texas Tech and was a four year track and field letterwinner, a three-time All-American, two-time Southwest Conference Champion in the javelin and competed in the 1991 and 1993 World Championships … Her father Rod is also the Chilean National record holder in javelin for the past 15+ years … She loves animals and has a giant African Spurred Tortoise and English Mastiff that is over 18 pounds … Chose Pepperdine because ‘it felt like home. The coaches and players are a special group of people who share my passion for the game. In addition, Pepperdine offers a great combination of high level athletics and academics.’
