RECAP
The Waves avenged a doubles point loss from the first time the two teams met, going 6-2 on court two via
Ashley Lahey and
Nikki Redelijk and 6-4 on court three from
Taisiya Pachkaleva and
Lisa Zaar. Jessica Failla and
Shiori Fukuda were neck-and-neck with the #12 doubles tandem in the country when the clinch point was won.
In singles, #33 Failla saw yet another upset, making her case to bump her up in the rankings. Failla delivered two 6-1, 6-2 blows on court one to bury #22 Angela Kulikov for the first Pepperdine singles point of the afternoon.
Zaar obliterated her opponent on court six, going 6-3, 6-3 to give the Waves a 3-2 lead over the Trojans. #88 Pachkaleva followed suit with a three-set win on court four for the Pepperdine clinch point.
