MALIBU, California – Noah Dyer and Austin Wilmot of the Pepperdine men's volleyball team have been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association's All-American honorable mention list, the organization announced today.
It's the first All-American nod for both. It's the third year in a row, and the seventh time in eight years, that Pepperdine has produced multiple All-Americans.
Dyer (San Clemente, Calif./Saddleback Christian HS), a senior outside hitter, led the Waves in both points per set (3.44) and kills per set (2.84). He ranked ninth and 10th in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation in those two categories, respectively. He was also ninth in service aces per set (0.29). He also averaged 1.18 digs and 0.59 blocks. He was named to the All-MPSF first team.
Wilmot (Valley Village, Calif./UC Irvine), a junior middle blocker who was in his first season with the Waves after transferring in, ranked fourth in the MPSF in blocks (1.12) and sixth in hitting percentage (.405). He also averaged 1.90 kills. He was named to the All-MPSF second team.
Pepperdine ended the shortened season ranked #8 by the AVCA and with records of 8-6 overall and 3-2 in the MPSF.
