MALIBU, Calif. – The #35 Pepperdine men's tennis team is set to pack up their 10-0 record and take it south this weekend to compete against both Ball State and in the Pacific Coast Doubles Championship.

ON BALL STATE
Currently standing 7-4 on the season, Ball State has most recently earned two 7-0 wins over Indiana University Southeast in double-header action. The Cardinals have had two run-ins with Power Five schools in a 7-0 loss at Indiana and a 4-2 loss at Michigan State.
All-time, Pepperdine is 1-0 against Ball State with the two schools' only meeting coming last season as the Waves took a 5-2 win at Ralphs-Straus.
PACIFIC COAST DOUBLES CHAMPIONSHIP
The Pacific Coast Doubles Championship is the second-oldest tennis event in the United States and has a rich tournament history. First held in 1890 at The Hotel Del Monte in Monterey, California, the event was created to promote the sale of real estate on the Monterey peninsula. The original concept pitted the best players from the East versus those from the West. This coast to coast rivalry was the inspiration for the Davis Cup.
Matches will be played in La Jolla, Calif. at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club from Thursday, March 5
th to Sunday, March 8

SURF REPORT
The #35 Waves are coming off of two high-power wins last weekend as they defeated Nebraska 6-1 and most recently 4-3 over #42 Oklahoma on an
Adrian Oetzbach tie-breaker clinch point.
Pepperdine is currently undefeated at 10-0 heading into this weekend with wins over then-#29 Minnesota (5-2) and #42 Oklahoma. The last time the Waves had such a start to a season, they went on to win the 2006 National Championship in Palo Alto, Calif. in a. 4-2 finish over Georgia.
Also undefeated in singles are Waves
Tim Zeitvogel and Oetzbach, who have yet to drop a match this season and in Tim's case, since last March when Pepperdine took on Tulane in New Orleans on March 17
th, 2019. Oetzbach has remained undefeated this season, claiming three clinch points on the year.
In doubles, the Waves have grabbed six of their last seven doubles points.
Corrado Summaria has remained in the rankings for Pepperdine, clocking in at #101 in this week's ITA Rankings.
