PEPPERDINE 2018-19: Achieved Pepperdine Scholar Athlete status … Competed in 26 singles and 18 doubles matches as a junior at the #1 singles and doubles position.

OKLAHOMA 2017-18: Finished the spring with a 7-13 record as a sophomore … Clinched the Sooners’ 4-2 win over Baylor with a three-set (6-3, 5-7, 6-2) victory over Bjoern Petersen at the No. 2 line … Also clinched OU’s win over Wichita State at #1 singles, where he took down Haru Inoue, 6-4, 6-3, in his first-ever match at the top spot in the lineup … Compiled a 10-8 record in doubles, including a 5-4 mark with Jochen Bertsch and a 5-4 record with Ferran Calvo ... With Calvo, achieved a season-high doubles ranking of #61 in the ITA release … Compiled a fall singles record of 2-3 … Went 4-1 in doubles play with partners James Davis and Bertsch … With Bertsch, recorded a 3-1 record at the ITA Central Regional Championships, where the pair made a run to the quarterfinals … Finished the fall ranked No. 43 in the ITA doubles rankings with Bertsch.

OKLAHOMA 2016-17: Joined the Sooners in the spring of 2017 … Finished freshman season with an 8-15 record in singles and an 11-8 combined record in doubles.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Geschwister-Scholl Gymnasium in Stuttgart, Germany in 2016.

JUNIORS: Holds a career-high ITF singles ranking of 1030 … Reached a high German junior ranking of #9 … Won the 2016 German Confederations championship … Reached the finals in singles at the NRW Junior Open 2015 in Monchengladbach, Germany … Qualified for the main draw and achieved a round of 32 finish at the prestigious Belgian International Junior Championships in 2015 … Reached the semifinals in doubles at the Bavarian Junior Championships (2015).

PERSONAL: Son of Viola Oetzbach and Juergen Oetzbach … Brother to Maya Oetzbach … Achieved undergraduate degree in sociology … Chose Pepperdine because “I felt like the new coaching staff is incredibly motivated and engaged. In addition, they have a lot of knowledge and experience, which can help me get ready for the professional tour. Furthermore, the facilities and school are great and have all the amenities that are necessary to succeed ion the court and in the classroom.”
