Men's Tennis Competes at UCSB Invite

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — Pepperdine men's tennis made the short trip north to UC Santa Barbara to battle at the UCSB Invite over the weekend.

Photos Photiades started off the action for the Waves on Flight A with a close loss to Marcos Castro Fabra (6-3, 6-7 (6-8), 1-6). Photos took the first set before narrowly dropping the tiebreaker in set two and falling in set three. Moving to Flight C, it was newcomer Will Steinberg getting the victory over Andrew Beceiro (6-4, 1-6, 6-4).

On Saturday, Steinberg came up short against Cal Poly's Leo Matthysen (5-7, 4-6), moving to the consolation matches. The Invite wrapped up on Sunday with Photiades falling in straight sets to UC Irvine's Max Fardanesh (4-6, 4-6) while Steinberg picked up a win due to retirement mid-match from Jack Lukic.
