MALIBU, Calif. — Pepperdine men's tennis has announced the signing of Lorenzo Comino, as announced today by Director of Tennis, Adam Schaechterle.
Â
Comino will join the Waves for the spring 2027 season.
Â
"Our recruiting this fall has been a team effort," said Schaechterle. "Coach [Max] Koller and Coach [Diego] Castillo have done a tremendous job building relationships and developing leads. Lorenzo stood out because of his mindset. He is a late bloomer with a chip on his shoulder. His family values are a great fit with our program values, and his level will explode in our environment. On the court, Lorenzo is a physical beast with a huge forehand. He is a fierce competitor. We are excited to add him to a strong returning core. Go Waves."
Â
The 20-year-old is 60-36 in his career, boasting a win percentage of over 62.5 percent. He went 18-12 this year and was dominant in 2025 with a 38-19 record. In 2024, he posted a 4-5 record. The Mondovi, Italy native has an ITF (Italian Tennis Federation) juniors career-high ranking of 215 to pair with ATP career-high rankings of 909 in singles and 1010 in doubles, having secured a victory in professional doubles.
