SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Gustavo Ribeiro has been named the West Coast Conference Men's Tennis Freshman of the Week, as announced by the WCC this afternoon. It's the second time he has earned the honor.
 
'Gus' was dominant in the Waves' wins over Pacific and Saint Mary's this past weekend. He swept his singles matches by defeating the Tigers' Christof Schaertlin Coffey in straight sets (6-1, 6-2) before taking down the Gaels' Finn Dyer in straight sets (6-1, 6-3).

Doubles - Jonty Giesen, So., Nico Rating, So., Pacific
Freshman - Gustavo Ribeiro de Almeida, Fr., Pepperdine
 
The Waves will return to the court this Sunday for their first home match in nearly two months. Pepperdine will be welcoming Portland and Gonzaga to Malibu this Easter Sunday, April 5 for  10:00 am and 2:30 pm matches, respectively.
