RECAP
Starting in doubles, the Waves split on courts one and two as
Adrian Oetzbach and
Daniel De Jonge defeated Cancel and Lumsden 6-2 to put the pressure on court three.
Corrado Summaria and
Pietro Fellin felt none of it, however, as they beat their Huskies opponents 6-4 to take the doubles point.
In singles,
Tim Zeitvogel remained unblemished in dual singles play as he struck first for the Waves going 6-3, 6-4 over UW's Brandon Wong. Freshman
Robert Shelton struck next with a 6-0, 7-5 win over Washington's court six Adam Torocsik to put Pepperdine up 3-0 on the day.
On court five, Luque Rico delivered the clinching blow, going 6-2, 6-2 over Liam Puttergill to earn the win for the Waves. Elsewhere, senior Oetzbach defeated his Washington foe 6-2, 6-2 in completion, while newly appointed De Jonge fought to the end but dropped against #45 Jack Davis 7-6 (4), 2-6, 10-7 to finish the overall match 5-2.
