
Waves Set Records In Final Indoor Meet

NAMPA, Idaho – The Pepperdine women's indoor track team had a great showing in the Boise State Invite this weekend for their final indoor meet of the season. The first highlight of the meet came on Friday when the team of Cori Persinger, Abbey Meck, Tiffany Egbo and Olivia Miller set a new school record in the distance medley relay with a time of 12:33.27.

Freshman Skyler Danley (Easton, Pa./Easton Area HS) also had an outstanding performance for the Waves in the 3000 meter run, breaking the school record in the event by running a 10:39.88. The record was previously set by teammate Meck in 2018 at 10:43.58.

Other top performances included Tiffany Egbo (Gilbert, Ariz./Highland HS) in the 200 meter run, Eden Dorsey (San Antonia, Texas/Young Women's Leadership Academy in the 60 meters, Abbey Meck (Santa Cruz, Calif./San Lorenzo Valley HS) in the mile, Grace Palmer in the 400 meters, Olivia Miller (Tallahassee, Fla./Lawton Chiles HS) in the 800 meters, and Katie O'Malley (San Ramon, Calif./Dougherty Valley HS) in the long jump.

"What a great two days at Boise State Challenge for our last indoor meet of the season." said Head Coach Sylvia Mosqueda. "The Pepperdine women walked away with two school records. On Friday, the first race of the day was the women's distance medley relay broke the record with a time of 12:33.23, run by Cori, Tiffany, Olivia and Abbey. On Saturday, Skyler had a stellar day breaking her own record by 8 seconds in women's 3000m. All in all, it was a great day for the Pepperdine lady waves!"

The Pepperdine men's and women's track teams will be back in California for the outdoor season starting on February 22nd at UC Santa Barbara.
