MALIBU, Calif. – The Pepperdine men's tennis team returns home to welcome West Coast Conference competitors #38 BYU and #28 San Diego this weekend at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center.
 
The Sunday match will stand as the team's senior day, where Waves seniors Matias Sborowitz and Scotland Garapedian will be honored prior to the 1 p.m. match.
 
MATCH 20: Saturday, April 13 at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center in Malibu, Calif.: Pepperdine (9-10, 3-2 WCC) vs #38 BYU (17-3, 6-1 WCC) at 1:00 p.m.
 
MATCH 21: Sunday, April 14 at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center in Malibu, Calif.: Pepperdine (9-10, 3-2 WCC) vs #28 San Diego (15-4, 5-1 WCC) at 1 p.m.
 
SERIES VS BYU: The Waves are 16-2 all-time in the series with the Cougars, with their only two losses coming in Provo. BYU is currently ranked 38^th in the country, and has the 103^rd-ranked singles player in Sean Hill, as well as the 48^th-ranked doubles pair in Hill and Jeffery Hsu. The Cougars' only conference loss came by the hands of Gonzaga in Spokane back in March, where BYU lost 4-2.
 
SERIES VS SAN DIEGO: Overall, Pepperdine is 33-11 with the Toreros. The ITA has San Diego ranked at 28^th in the nation, holding the 57^th-ranked singles player in Gui Osorio, as well as the 56^th-ranked pair of August Holmgren and Joel Gamerov. The Toreros have only recorded a single loss in WCC play, where BYU won 4-3 in March.
 
LAST TIME OUT: The Waves are coming off a 4-1 loss to 13^th-ranked UCLA on Tuesday afternoon in Los Angeles. In the loss, Matias Sborowitz grabbed the lone point for Pepperdine in singles play, where he defeated Ben Goldberg 1-6, 6-4 and 6-3. Sborowitz played hero last week at Portland where he recorded the clinch point against the Pilots' Eleftherios Neos and putting the Waves up 4-1.
 
NEXT UP: After the matches against BYU and San Diego, the Waves will make one last WCC business trip to take on San Francisco and Santa Clara in NorCal. The matches are scheduled for Friday and Saturday at 12 p.m.
