MALIBU, California – A record-breaking sophomore season has led to
Colbey Ross being named to the All-West Coast Conference first team, while brothers
Kameron (All-WCC honorable mention) and
Kessler Edwards (WCC All-Freshman team) also received recognition for the Pepperdine men's basketball team from the league office today.
Ross (Aurora, Colo./Eaglecrest HS), a sophomore guard, ranks fourth in the WCC in scoring (19.3) and first in assists (7.3), both overall and in league games only. Nationally, he ranks fourth in assists per game, while he's third in both free throws made (216) and attempted (253). Ross has set Pepperdine single-season records for assists (218) and free throws made, which are among nine records he's set or tied this season. Ross was All-WCC honorable mention last year as a freshman.
Kameron Edwards (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif./Etiwanda HS) has seen an otherwise exceptional redshirt junior season limited by injuries. He's only played in 15 games but has averaged 16.9 points and 7.3 rebounds when available. Before he dropped off the WCC leaderboard due to not having played enough games, he ranked eighth in scoring (17.0) and fourth in rebounding (7.8) in league games only.
Kessler Edwards (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif./Etiwanda HS) is the sixth Wave in the last seven years to make the WCC All-Freshman team, following in the footsteps of his older brother (2016) and Ross (2018). He's averaging 10.0 points (second among WCC freshmen), 5.5 rebounds (first among WCC freshmen, 14th overall) and 1.0 blocks (third among WCC freshmen, tied for seventh overall). In league games only, he finished tied for first in steals (1.6).
