NAPA, Calif. – The Pepperdine men's tennis team started its season over the weekend at the Silverado Invitational at the Silverado Country Club in Napa, Calif.

Four Waves made the trip up North: Seniors Scotland Garapedian (Agoura Hills, Calif./Fusion Academy) and Matias Sborowitz (Santiago, RM, Chile/Athletics Study Center), junior transfer Pawel Jankowiak (Poznand, Poland/UC Riverside) and freshman Enrique Luque Rico (Cordoba, Spain/American International School of Cordoba).

Rico had the most success of all the Waves, winning two of three matches. The first match win came against Josh Wilson of Liberty (6-4, 6-2) and the second came against Ben Draper of Cal (6-3, 4-6, 6-4). Sborowitz and Jankowiak each defeated opponents from UNLV, defeating Jordan Sauer (6-4, 6-4) and Zach Gamer (6-4, 6-4) respectively.
