MALIBU, Calif. - The Pepperdine baseball team got seven shutout innings from starter Christian Stoutland, defeating San Francisco 10-2 on Sunday at Eddy D. Field Stadium. The win puts the Waves a game and a half clear of the Dons in the race for the West Coast Conference regular season title.
The Waves (24-18, 14-7 WCC) exploded for six insurance runs in the eighth inning, preventing the Dons (25-23, 14-10 WCC) from making a comeback.

- Junior RHP Christian Stoutland (Calabasas, Calif./Oaks Christian HS) gave the Waves seven shutout innings on the mound, only giving up five hits and tacking on eight strikeouts, a new career high.
- Freshman infielder Brandt Belk (Houston, Texas/Westside HS) went 2-for-5 on the day, including a two-RBI double in the eighth inning.
- Junior outfielder Matthew Kanfer (Playa Del Ray, Calif./ L.A.C.E.S) went 2-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored.
- Junior outfielder Jordan Qsar (El Cajon, Calif./Valhalla HS) was 2-for-4 on the day, including an RBI single in the eighth.
- Sophomore infielder Duncan McKinnon (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Redondo Union HS) went 2-for-3 on the day with two RBI.

The Waves jumped ahead of the Dons early, scoring two runs in the second inning on a sacrifice fly from Duncan McKinnon, which scored Jordan Qsar from third. Billy Cook quickly followed with an RBI single through the left side, scoring Quincy McAfee to give the Waves a 2-0 lead after two innings.
Pepperdine added to the lead in the fourth inning on an RBI single from Chase Lambert. The Waves would add another run in the fifth on McKinnon's second sacrifice fly, giving Pepperdine a 4-0 lead after five innings.
McKinnon started the eighth inning off with a single, followed by another single from Aharon Modlin, who came into the game for Cook in the eighth. Both Modlin and Joe Caparis scored on an RBI double from Brandt Belk after Lambert walked to load the bases. Lambert and Belk scored after an RBI-ground-rule double from Matt Kanfer. Two singles up the middle from Qsar and McAfee scored two more, giving the Waves six runs in the eighth inning and a 10-0 lead in the game. The Dons scored two runs in the ninth, but could not complete the comeback, cementing the 10-2 victory for the Waves
