
#2 Pepperdine Advances at WCC Championships

MALIBU, Calif. -- The No. 2-ranked and top-seeded Pepperdine beach volleyball team opened postseason action with a dominating sweep over No. 4 seed Pacific at Ocean Park Beach in the West Coast Conference Championships second round.
The Waves (22-3) will advance to the next round at 9 a.m. tomorrow against Saint Mary's.

Pepperdine's No. 5 pair Maddie Dilfer and Nikki Lyons would do the honors as they downed Ashlyn Fleming and Taylor Poncetta with a 21-13, 21-9 to clinch the Waves' win. Deahna Kraft and Corinne Quiggle then put down Andie Skelton and Skylar Wine with a pair of 21-11 sets on one, and Heidi Dyer and Gigi Hernandez picked up a 21-6, 21-14 victory over Katrin Gotterba and Alex Holt on three.
