
Portland Downs Pepperdine 82-58

PORTLAND, Ore. â€" Paige Fecske led the Pepperdine women's basketball team with 24 points against Portland at the Chiles Center on Saturday afternoon, but it would not be enough to help the Waves overcome as the Pilots finished the regular season with a 82-58 West Coast Conference win.
The Waves (9-19, 5-13 WCC) and Portland (7-22, 3-15 WCC) will open the WCC Championships in Las Vegas on Thursday. Pepperdine will take on Santa Clara to open the tournament.

- Paige Fecske led the Waves with 24 points after hitting 10-16 from the field and three from long range.
- Yasmine Robinson-Bacote added 11 points and four rebounds.
- Megan House put up six points and four rebounds, while Barbara Sitanggan was good for five points and four boards. Peyton Langston also marked five points.

- Robinson-Bacote's career-point mark now stats at 1,018 total points.
- Portland outshot the Waves with 51.5%-38.5% field goal percentage throughout the game, beginning with a 64.7%-14.3% output in the first quarter alone.

In the second quarter, the opposition continued to score, although the Waves scored first in the period with a pair of free throws by Barbara Sitanggan. Although Pepperdine played tough, the Pilots worked towards a 48-22 lead heading into halftime.
Paige Fescke came out strong in the third quarter, putting up 11 of the Waves' 21 points. Despite the effort, Portland once again worked ahead to go into the final quarter with a 70-43 advantage.
The Waves put up a strong effort in the fourth, outscoring the Pilots 15-12, but it was not enough to close the gap and overcome as Portland finished off the game with the 82-58 WCC victory.
