Frohling Garners CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 Second Team Honors

MALIBU, Calif. — Junior Hannah Frohling garnered CoSIDA's Google Cloud Academic All-District 8 second team honors, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America.Â

Frohling, originally from Edmond, Okla., currently has a 3.95 grade point average while studying Sports Medicine. She was one of 14-individuals in the district to achieve regional academic honors, along with fellow West Coast Conference competitor's from BYU Roni Jones-Perry, Lyndie Haddock-Eppch and Mary Lake.

In 2017, Frohling earned CoSIDA Academic All-District first team honors, as well as WCC All-Academic first team and All-WCC honorable mention. She also earned a spot on the Pepperdine Dean's List and is a two-time Pepperdine Scholar-Athlete and WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll 'gold' honors.Â

Currently, Frohling ranks 60th nationally with 0.38 aces/set, 100th with 36 aces and 122nd with 3.98 points/set. She is tied for a team-high 17 matches with double-figure kills, and has totaled double-figure digs once. She has led the Waves in kills in 11-matches, hitting percentage six times, aces 10 times and blocks twice.Â

Throughout 98 sets played this season, she averaged 3.84 points/set with 3.22 kills/set on a .251 success rate. She also added 0.99 digs/set, 0.37 aces/set, 0.47 blocks/set and 0.14 assists/set for the Waves. In total, Frohling has amassed 316 kills with 115 errors on 800 swings, along with a team-best 36 aces. She also added 14 assists, 97 digs and 46 blocks this season thus far.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. First team honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be announced in December.Â
