After working point-for-point to a 6-6 tied score, the Waves unleashed a big defensive effort, starting with a Blossom Sato and Alli O'Harra block collaboration.  With kills from Shannon Scully and Hannah Frohling, Pepperdine continued en route to a 13-9 lead.  With an impressive service output from Sato including an ace late in the action and kills from Tarah Wylie, Heidi Dyer and Frohling, the Waves went on a 8-0 run for a 21-10 advantage.  A final smash from Scully sealed the deal in the first set with a 25-15 Waves' win to start the day.

In the second set, the Waves set a solid tone in the second set, amassing a 10-5 lead with a big service output from Wylie and kills from Dyer and O'Harra.  Although the Dons stayed close behind throughout, Pepperdine maintained the lead courtesy of smashes from Frohling and Wylie.  Late blocks from O'Harra with either Frohling or Dyer late in the set helped shut the door and the Waves finished with a 25-22 set win.

Pepperdine was intent on closing the match out in the three, an as the third set start it was evident that feat would be accomplished.  The Waves came out with an ace from Wylie and smashes from Scully and O'Harra en route to a 10-7 advantage.  With more solid service outputs from Hana Lishman and Scully, featuring big smashes from Wylie, the Waves worked towards an 8-1 run to continue towards the win.  In the final moments, Dyer, Scully and O'Harra unleashed a huge attack effort to secure the 25-17 final set win and match sweep.
