MALIBU, Calif. – Enrique Luque Rico of the Pepperdine men's tennis team finished at the ITA Regional on Friday. His final match was in the round of 32.

MATCH RECAP
In the round of 32 in the singles main draw, Luque Rico (Cordova, Spain/American International School of Mallorca) matched up against Jake Sands from USC. The first set was extremely competitive, with Rico working the set to a tiebreak. Sands took the tiebreak 7-2. Sands also took the final set, 6-2.
 
QUOTABLE
"Enrique's match today was a great opportunity for him to play a competitor that is seasoned and been in high-pressure situations before," said head coach Adam Schaechterle. "I think that Enrique learned that college tennis is more than just shots and movement; that there is a lot happening in between points. He definitely learned from the experience today, and although I wish that we could have learned by winning, I am really happy that he was in the position that he was today."
