"I think it really came down to the first goal of the day," said Pepperdine Head Coach Tim Ward. "Those were two teams that keep the ball pretty well and in this kind of game the best defense is holding the ball. Once you get that first goal you can really manage the game via possession and control the tempo."
"Getting that second goal on a set piece was great," said Ward. "That's something we've worked a lot on and it was a great service and finish. Then that third goal was probably one of the better goals I've ever seen here at Pepperdine. It was an excellent combination, with four or five girls involved. That was really a thing of beauty."
