KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Pepperdine women's soccer (11-6-2, 8-2-1 WCC), for the first time in program history, has three Waves honored with Scholar All-American Honors.
To earn the title of Scholar All-American, an athlete must be an upperclassmen, maintain a 3.40 cumulatively, earn at least all-conference recognition, and have remarkable stats on the field.
Peyton Leonard and
Tabitha LaParl earned second team with
Tatum Wynalda earning third team. This is the first recognition for the program since Joelle Anderson in 2017. Pepperdine is only one of three universities to have three student-athletes recognized, joining Vanderbilt University and Ohio State University.
All three Waves earned All-West Cost Conference First Team with Leonard earning All-WCC academic team while LaParl and Tatum saw honorable mention nods. LaParl gave the Waves the second straight WCC Midfielder of the Year honor, earning the title outright.
The trio was also named All-West Region by United Soccer Coaches with Leonard and LaParl named to the first team while Wynalda was named to the second team. Lastly, Leonard was also recognized on the CSC All-District Team for her academic excellence.
Over doubling the program's Scholar All-Americans, Pepperdine has only had two ever recognized with this year's class bringing that total to five.
