Women’s Soccer Has Four Waves Selected to All-West Region Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Pepperdine women's soccer's (11-6-2, 8-2-1 WCC) Peyton Leonard, Tabitha LaParl, Julia Quinonez and Tatum Wynalda were named to All-West Region teams, the United Soccer Coaches announced Tuesday.

Leonard, LaParl, and Quinonez were selected to the First Team while Wynalda was selected to the Second Team. It is the first time since 2021 the Waves have had at least three representatives on the first team. Last season, LaParl was honored with Third Team honors and Wynalda notched her first All-West Region honors on the Second Team in 2022. For Leonard and Quinonez, it is their first All-West Region award.

The same four were all selected to the All-WCC First Team this season as well.

Leading the Waves this season, Quinonez netted 11 goals with Wynalda recording a team-high 10 assists. LaParl was selected by the West Coast Conference as the Midfielder of the Year and Leonard scored four goals with three assists as the team's highest offensive-producing defender.

Winning back-to-back conference titles for just the second time in program history, Pepperdine clinched their third consecutive NCAA tournament, losing 1-3 in the opening round to No. 17 UCLA. It was Waves' 15th appearance in the NCAA tournament. Clinching the last conference title without a league tournament, the West Coast Conference is introducing a four-team postseason tournament next season.
