
Weber State Downs Pepperdine 71-61 in Utah

OGDEN, Utah " The Pepperdine women's basketball team couldn't overcome a cold-shooting second half on the road Thursday night, falling 70-59 to Weber State.
Pepperdine shot 37% in the final two quarters, giving up a narrow halftime lead to the Wildcats. The Waves fall to 4-5 on the year, while Weber State moves to 6-2 on the year.

• Tylinn Carter finished with 10 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.
• Barbara Sitanggan had six assists and seven rebounds.

• Pepperdine won the rebounding battle 43-33 and points in the paint 30-24.
• Weber State scored a game-high 24 points and shot 54% in the fourth quarter.

The Waves and Wildcats traded baskets through the first half, but Pepperdine would take a 31-30 lead into the break thanks to a 25-19 rebounding edge and a slightly better shooting percentage. Late in the third quarter the Waves suffered through a five-minute scoreless stretch and Weber State took a 47-42 lead into the fourth. Pepperdine's shooting didn't pick up enough in the fourth quarter and the Wildcats went 7-for-13 in the final period to pull away.

Pepperdine has a break in the schedule and will next host New Mexico State on Dec. 17. The Waves then open West Coast Conference play on Dec. 28 against Santa Clara at home.
