
Waves Fall at Home to Seattle, 65-62

MALIBU, Calif. -- The Pepperdine women's basketball team fell 65-62 to Seattle in a back-and-forth contest on Sunday afternoon in Malibu. Pepperdine had a last-second shot that rattled out to end the game and just miss forcing overtime.
It was the first home game of the season for the Waves, who fall to 2-2 on the year. Seattle moves to 2-2 with the win.

Senior forward Peyton Langston posted her fourth straight game in double figures, scoring 12 points. Langston also had three assists and three steals.

The Waves 36.7% shooting was its second lowest percentage this year.
The teams were tied 38-38 in the rebounding department.
Pepperdine won the turnover battle, 16-19.

The Waves jumped out to an eight-point lead, 13-5, midway through the first quarter, but Seattle came back to cut it to a 15-12 game at the break. The Redhawks and Waves would trade baskets through most of the second quarter until Seattle used a 6-0 run late to take the lead. The visitors would lead 32-31 at the half.
Seattle would push it to a 47-42 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Pepperdine would come back to re-take the lead on two Robinson-Bacote free throws, going up 56-55 with 4:48 to play. The Redhawks would answer with a three-point play and three-pointer to go back up by five. The Waves again came back to tie the game at 61-61 with 1:48 to play, but Seattle again had the answer, hitting another three to take the lead for good. Pepperdine got a deep three off with just seconds left on the clock, but it rattled out to end the contest.
