
Waves Through Two Rounds at The Goodwin

PALO ALTO, Calif. " Freshmen Lorenzo Magagnin and Sahith Theegala shot 1-under 69s to lead the Pepperdine men's golf team during the second round of The Goodwin, hosted by Stanford, on Friday.
The Waves are still in eighth place with a two-day total of a 10-over 570 (287-283) at the par-70 Stanford Golf Course. The tournament includes 26 teams, seven of which rank in Golfstat's top 50 (Pepperdine is 38th). The third and final round is Saturday.
Theegala (Chino Hills, Calif./Diamond Bar HS) is tied for 16th place with an even-par 140 (71-69). His round includes three birdies, all of which came in a four-hole span in the middle of his round. Theegala now has gone below-par 12 times in just 22 career rounds.
Senior Frederick Wedel (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands HS) is tied for 22nd with a 2-over 142 (69-73). He had three more birdies on Friday.
Magagnin (Treviso, Italy) is tied for 31st at 143 (74-69). He posted two eagles and two birdies in his second round. Freshman Roy Cootes (Rolling Hills, Calif./Palos Verdes HS) is tied for 52nd at 145 (73-72) and junior Robbie Geibel (Pembroke Pines, Fla./American Heritage HS/Louisville) is tied for 71st at 147 (74-73). Geibel had an eagle on the par-5 16th.
Playing as an individual, junior Cody McManus (Phoenix, Ariz./Desert Vista HS) is tied for 123rd at 155 (78-77).
