No. 15 Men's Golf Advances to Match Play Semifinals of WCC Championships

FAIRFIELD, Calif. — No. 15 Pepperdine men's golf finished in second place after three rounds at the WCC Championships, advancing to Sunday's match play semifinals round.

The Waves will face Augusta in the semifinals. Should Pepperdine move on to the finals, the blue and orange will face the winner of San Diego-Oregon State.

Pepperdine remained formidable in the final round, finishing 18 strokes under as a squad, only four back of the leader in San Diego. The Waves shot two-under as a team in the third squad.

Brady Siravo and Mahanth Chirravuri paced Pepperdine with top-five performances. The duo was among a three-way tie for fourth place overall, shooting five-under. Siravo was even for the round after sinking a pair of birdies on the back nine to help balance out a trio of bogeys. Chirravuri was one-over, running into brief moments of trouble on 10, 13, and 18, where he bogeyed. The seventh-ranked golfer in the country shot 69-67-72 for the tournament, still five-under overall.

Willy Walsh maintained consistency from round two, shooting two-under. He sank four birdies on the front nine and ended shooting 72-69-69 to finish in a four-way tie for 12th place overall.

Byungho Lee finished one-under for the tournament's three rounds, despite going two-over in the final round today. He carded a 69-70-73 and took 20th overall, rounding out a strong core four for the Waves.

Carson Kim subbed in for Luke Dariotis and posted a score of one-under. He came out of the gates hot, burying consecutive birdies on one and two to start the day. Two more birdies on the back nine helped him complete the round under par.
