The next batter, ophomore transfer Duncan McKinnon doubled Goldenetz in, and he was doubled in by freshman Joe Caparis to extend the lead further to 10-5. Another double, this time by Senior Matt Crowder, brought in another run for the Blue team.
In the top half of the second, Kanfer was hit by a pitch, and Barnett doubled into the right field gap before Caruso doubled into the left field gap to bring them home and extend Blue's lead to 13-5.
In the bottom half of the seventh, and last inning, the Orange team got a runner on first, but couldn't capitalize, giving the Blue team the first game of the series.
