
Waves Host Annual Ehlers Cup on October 19

MALIBU, Calif. - Prior to celebrating the induction of alums Sean Rooney and Brad Keenan into the Pepperdine Athletics Hall of Fame, the Waves' men's volleyball team hosts the annual Ehlers Cup golf tournament on the morning of Sunday, October 19. A putting contest kicks off the day at 7 a.m. followed by a round of golf at the Lost Canyons Golf Club.
Alumni of the men's and women's volleyball teams are also invited to take part in 4-on-4 beach volleyball tournament. The event will take place at Zuma Beach on Saturday, October 18 at 9 a.m. There is no charge to play, but alumni are asked to RSVP to assistant coach Jonathan Winder (jonathan.winder@pepperdine.edu or 310-506-4528) by October 4.
The Ehlers Cup will take place at the Lost Canyons Golf Club in Simi Valley, Calif. on Sunday. One round of golf will begin at 8 a.m. following the putting contest. Entrance into the shot-gun start golf tournament costs $175, which includes one round of golf, golf cart, lunch and range balls.
Additional sponsorship opportunities are available. All money raised will go directly to the ongoing development of the Pepperdine men's volleyball team.

The Pepperdine Athletics Hall of Fame Dinner will follow the Ehlers Cup on Sunday evening inside Firestone Fieldhouse. Check-in and a reception will begin at 5:15 p.m., with dinner and the awards presentation at 6 p.m. Tickets are $60 per plate and can be purchased by contacting Jamil Macias at 310-506-4935 or jamil.macias@pepperdine.edu. The deadline is October 10 to make a reservation.
In addition to Rooney and Keenan, the 2014 inductees include Katie Wilkins-Kimmich (women's volleyball), Jennifer Lacy (women's basketball), Alan Herrmann (men's water polo) and Jason Allred (men's golf).
