Five Earn MPSF Postseason Volleyball Honors

Junior setter Kasey Crider was picked to the All-MPSF second team, senior outside hitter J.D. Schleppenbach made the third team and junior middle blocker Tyler Jaynes was honorable mention. Additionally, opposite Maurice Torres was selected to the MPSF All-Freshman team.
Riecks (Auburn, Calif./Placer HS) leads the team with 3.96 kills and is also hitting .393. Crider (Granite Bay, Calif./Granite Bay HS) leads the nation with 14.16 assists per game. Schleppenbach (Ventura, Calif./Ventura HS) is averaging 2.80 kills and 1.87 digs. Jaynes (Granite Bay, Calif./Granite Bay HS) is fourth nationally in blocks (1.56) and is hitting .437 with 1.92 kills. Torres (Riverside, Calif./Orange Lutheran HS) is averaging 3.92 kills, second on the team.
Torres was named an MPSF co-Player of the Week twice this season, while Jaynes, Riecks and Schleppenbach each earned the honor once.
Pepperdine earned its most All-MPSF honors since 2006, when four were also selected. This is the first All-MPSF honor for Riecks, Schleppenbach and Jaynes. Crider was picked as an honorable mention selection in 2009.
The #5 Waves (16-9, 14-8) begin the MPSF Tournament this weekend with a first-round match at #4 Hawaii (18-9, 14-8). Game time is 7 p.m. HT/10 p.m. PT.
