Hill, Robinson Make Rising Stars List

MALIBU, Calif. -- Two of the Pepperdine women's volleyball team's outstanding freshmen -- middle blocker Kim Hill and libero Stevi Robinson -- were named to Collegiate Volleyball Update's "Rising Stars" list as two of the top 16 freshmen in the country.

Hill (Portland, Ore./Portland Christian HS) was named the West Coast Conference's Freshman of the Year and earned All-WCC honorable mention and All-Freshman team honors. Hill led the WCC in blocks (1.11) and was fifth in hitting percentage (.353).

Robinson (Hermosa Beach, Calif./Mira Costa HS) was named the WCC's Defensive Player of the Year, and, like Hill, was All-WCC honorable mention and an All-Freshman team pick. She led the conference with 4.81 digs per set.

The 2008 volleyball team finished 20-8 overall and tied for fourth place in the WCC with an 8-6 record. The Waves made the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
