Pepperdine Falls 3-1 at Wisconsin

The loss snapped the Waves’ two-match winning streak and dropped their record to 3-4-1.

Rupp’s five goals match her season high from last season when she led the club with 15 points. The senior continues to lead the Waves in 2008 with 11 points.
“She had a nice goal,” Ward said. “We put some pressure on them in the last 20 minutes of the second half, but it was just too late at that point.”
Pepperdine doubled its shot total from three to six late in the game, but the Waves would have had to connect on all three attempts to erase

The Badgers scored first on a Sheri Ferron goal in the 16th minute that was assisted by Taryn Francel, and then went up 2-0 on a rebound shot in the 34th minute.
Erin Jacobson’s first attempt was stopped by Lacey Heck (
Heck played only the first half and made one save to go with the two goals allowed.

Jacobsen made it a three-point day by successfully converting a penalty kick in the 66th minute against the Waves’ second-half goalkeeper Kayla Stolte (
Stolte, who was making her first appearance since leaving the Sept. 7 match vs. Northwestern with an injury, did not record a save as the Badgers’ were limited to four second-half shots and 10 overall.
Both teams committed their fair share of fouls, but the Badgers were twice as bad, collecting 22 fouls to Pepperdine’s 10.
