Rooney, Team USA Play in Irvine Next Week

IRVINE, Calif. -- Former Pepperdine men's volleyball standout Sean Rooney and the USA National Team will make their only Southern California appearance prior to the Beijing Olympics with an exhibition against Argentina next week.
The USA-Argentina match is scheduled for Tuesday, May 27, at 7 p.m. at the Bren Events Center on the campus of UC Irvine.
Team USA is ranked #3 in the world while Argentina is ranked #6.
Pepperdine Coach Marv Dunphy will be a member of the USA coaching staff at the Olympics. Rooney was a four-time All-American from 2002-05 for the Waves and was the 2005 National Player of the Year and the MVP of the NCAA Championships as Pepperdine captured the title.
