Donald Brown Named WCC Player of the Week

Malibu, Calif. - Sophomore right fielder Donald Brown, who enjoyed a career-day on Sunday in helping No. 9 Pepperdine take two of three from No. 8 Tulane over the weekend, was named the West Coast Conference's (WCC) Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday.
Brown batted .636 (7-for-11) with five runs scored and seven RBI. Included among his hits were a double and home run in Sunday's series finale in which he went 4-for-4 with three runs scored and five RBI.
His four hits and five RBI equaled career-highs while his three runs scored were a personal-best. Brown had 11 total bases, a 1.000 slugging percentage and .643 on-base percentage.
The recognition is a first-time honor for Brown.
Pepperdine, which is ranked No. 12 in the latest rankings, returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts No. 7 Cal State Fullerton at Eddy D. Field Stadium beginning at 2 p.m.
