Former Waves Crash into Cincinnati Open

MALIBU, Calif. - Former Pepperdine men's volleyball standouts Dain Blanton, Scott Wong, Sean Rooney and John Mayer will compete in the AVP's Cincinnati Open presented by Liftoff Thursday - Sunday at Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio.
Blanton, a 1992 graduate, currently ranks in a tie for 17th with 423 points, while Wong (2001) has 387 points, placing him in a tie at 20th and Rooney (2004) and Mayer (2004) each have 40 points as teammates.
Thursday's qualifier begins at 8 a.m. (CDT) and runs until 6 p.m. Friday's main draw gets underway at 8 a.m., with competition on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. and Sunday's action at Noon.
Tickets are available by logging onto www.avp.com with General Admission $15, Courtside seating $25/day, Beach Club (food/drinks included) $50/day.
NBC will televise Live action on both Saturday and Sunday beginning at 1:30 p.m. (PDT) each day.
