MALIBU, Calif. – Pepperdine women's basketball signed Evelyn Martyn to the incoming freshman class this fall, head coach Katie Faulkner announced Thursday.
"Evelyn is an incredible addition to our program build here in Malibu," Faulkner said. "Her length and size are the perfect compliment to the pieces around her. She's a great teammate and hard worker who will make our locker room better."
Out of Victoria, Australia, Martyn joins Zoe Shanahan and Freya Bijkerk as the third Australian on the squad for the upcoming season. Standing at 6'4", the incoming freshman will bring height to join newly signed Maggie Mendelson out of Penn State and incoming sophomore Shanahan.
Martyn spent the past two seasons with the Altona Gators Basketball Club in Australia's Victorian Junior Basketball League, averaging more than 15 points per game this year to cap an impressive junior career in her home country.
