MALIBU, Calif. — No. 9 Pepperdine women's golf is set to contest the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational, hosted by the University of Texas. The tournament takes place March 16-17 from the University of Texas Golf Club.
36 holes will be played Monday with the opening round beginning at 8:30 a.m. CT, with round two set to follow in the afternoon. The final round will be played Tuesday on the 6,473 yard, par-71 course in Austin.
The 16-team field features seven programs ranked in the top-50 in both The Differential and Scoreboard rankings. The trio of Arkansas, Texas and Pepperdine all sit in the top-10 in the nation.
"The team is excited to compete in the Betsy Rawls Invitational to conclude our regular season," said head coach
Laurie Gibbs. "Our players look forward to playing The University of Texas Golf Club, which is an outstanding golf course and competing against a great field of teams."
The Waves are coming off back-to-back tournament victories, having won the Yale Invitational West this past week while collecting a win at the Fresno State Classic the week prior. Pepperdine has finished in the top-two as a team in three of their four spring tournaments, and four of their seven tournaments played so far this academic year.
Pepperdine enters play ranked No. 9 in The Differential NCAA Head to Head rankings, the criteria used for NCAA postseason selection, and are currently No. 10 in the Scoreboard team rankings.
This marks Pepperdine's third appearance in the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational, having finished runner-up in the fall of 2011 and ninth in 2012.

The Waves will be off holes 5-9 in the opening round, playing alongside Boise State, Harvard and UTSA.
Yingzhi Zhu is coming off a career-best runner-up finish at the Yale Invitational West, having now recorded back-to-back top-three finishes. Zhu finished -6 with three rounds under par last week while finishing -1 the week prior.
Eunseo Choi has logged three straight top-10 finishes, highlighted by winning the individual title at the Fresno State Classic, finishing -6. Choi was also ninth at the Bruin Wave Invitational (-1) and secured fourth (-5) last week at PGA West.
Jeneath Wong is also coming off back-to-back top-10 finishes, having placed sixth (-4) last week at the Yale Invitational West which followed her runner-up finish (-3) at the Fresno State Classic.
Kylee Choi has also posted a pair of top-10s this spring, finishing third at the Bruin Wave Invitational (-5) while being fourth (E) at the Fresno State Classic to help the Waves earn the team win.
Grace Anderson is coming off a 30th-place finish last week at the Yale Invitational West (+11), and was 21st the week prior with a +12 mark in Fresno.
Kylee Choi currently sits at No. 25 in the Scoreboard individual rankings, while
Eunseo Choi has moved up to No. 30, and
Jeneath Wong is currently No. 55.
The Waves will have a month away competition ahead of the WCC Championships, set for April 25-27 in Fairfield, Calif.
