No. 9 Women's Golf Finishes Ninth at Therese Hession Regional Challenge

PALOS VERDES, Calif. — No. 9 Pepperdine women's golf concluded the Therese Hession Regional Challenge from Palos Verdes Golf Club Tuesday, finishing in ninth-place among 16 teams to open the spring season.

The Waves shot 290-290-296 across each round, finishing 24-over par the tournament.

Pepperdine held firm in the top-five through the first two rounds of the 54-hole tournament, before falling back during Tuesday's final round. Grace Anderson paced the Waves in the final round with an even par-71.

UCLA won the tournament by 11 strokes as the lone team under par at -8 across three rounds. Texas' Farah O'Keefe won the individual crown in a playoff after finishing 5-under par.

"We appreciate Ohio State including the Waves in one of the best college tournaments," said head coach Laurie Gibbs following the tournament. "It was not our best team score in the final round. Everyone will use the results at practice the next two weeks to focus on improving all parts of their game for the Bruin Wave."

The final round marked a shotgun start as the Waves teed off from holes 5-8.

Anderson posted her best round of the tournament with an even par-71, keeping her total for the week at +13 (80-75-71), finishing 63rd individually. Her third round saw three birdies and three bogeys including a 1-under 34 on the front nine.

Eunseo Choi carded a 75 (+4) in her final round, firing birdies on 10 and 11 after beginning 2-over through three holes. Choi recorded three birdies on the day and finished the tournament 7-over par (71-74-75) and in a tie for 32nd individually.

Kylee Choi mirrored Eunseo's final round (+4) and tournament score (+7), also finishing in a tie for 32nd individually (75-70-75). Choi's final round saw a 1-over 36 on the front nine, as she overall carded a birdie, three bogeys and one double bogey for the round.

Yingzhi Zhu also got in with a 75 (+4) in Tuesday's final round, with one birdie which came on her first hole after teeing off on the 8th. Zhu finished the tournament in 53rd individually, at 11 over par (72-77-75).
